Welcome to Vic Rinks. This is a personal interest project to explore, document and safeguard a niche corner of history that risks being forgotten. My mission is to create a centralized online record of defunct roller skating rinks in the Greater Melbourne Area of Victoria, Australia. 42 rinks and counting....

Stumbling upon this YouTube video helped to spark a fire of nostalgia in me and became a big inspiration beginning this project.

This video perfectly captures a moment in time that I'm sure will resonate with so many of you. As you watch it I imagine it will bring a smile to your face as you remember rolling around your own rink or maybe a pang of sadness as you think of moments, memories and people from long ago.
